You spent months bringing everyone you care about into one room. My priority is keeping you there with them for as much of the day as possible, because this party only happens once. Photographs of course have an immediate meaning, but their real weight lives years down the road. I know this firsthand from two decades of news photography and long term documentary work experience, but also in my personal life: After losing my mom, my family was able to experience the invaluable gift of diving into the results of prolific home movie and photo documentation. The family documentation was a conscious decision that eventually brought so much joy and light back into our lives when we needed it most. This personal stake helps shapes how I see your wedding. It is a living family archive, not a magazine shoot or a content creation opportunity for my brand.

My training as a photojournalist taught me how to work fast, read a room, and find compelling frames in any light. Sometimes with news assignments, all there is to work with are subtle changes in body language or gesture that may only happen in one or two fleeting moments before the next assignment. That is the core challenge and magic of the profession, but applying those photojournalistic reflexes to a wedding is the most rewarding work I do. The moments are perpetual throughout the whole day. I can't think of a better application of the skillset I have to offer than adding to my clients' family archives, and being a part of that eventual gift they will receive again later in life.
